Rest, My Child

God does not say, "Today be strong."
He knows your strength is spent,
He knows the burdens that you bear
That's why his Son was sent.
To walk upon these earthly roads,
Life's rugged path, He trod
He understands, and so He says,
"Be still, And know that I AM GOD."

God does not say, "Today be strong,
You have a cross to bear."
He said. "Place all your burdens upon me,
My child, I'm always here."
He bids you, "Wait, and rest awhile",
Listen for His will
Life's empty cup, He will fill up
Just for today....be still
